We’re happy to announce the release of Kubermatic Developer Platform (KDP) 1.2. KDP is our internal developer platform: an API backbone where platform teams publish services and developers consume them instantly, with no tickets required.

Built-in MCP Server for AI-powered Platform Engineering
KDP 1.2 now includes a built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. There’s nothing to install or configure locally: every KDP instance exposes a remote MCP endpoint out of the box.
This makes it easy to connect AI assistants and developer tools directly to your platform. Instead of manually navigating APIs or documentation, developers and platform engineers can interact with KDP using natural language while the MCP server securely exposes platform capabilities.

Collections allow platform engineers to define and manage groups of related resources as part of a single Blueprint. This makes it much easier to model complex application architectures while keeping service definitions clean, reusable, and declarative.
